During the transformation process in a biogas plant the crude slurry is fundamentally converted. It no longer has acidic properties, its viscosity is reduced considerably and nitrogen is transformed.
But what happens, if you have a surplus of slurry? Until recently this presented quite a serious problem – but now due to the help of a dryer (BIOdry) and by exploiting the excess heat in the cogenerators, the surplus slurry can be converted into digestate that can be used as a biofertilizer and sold on the fertilizer market.
